preschool
Preschool is where children first come into contact with structured learning. Students should be acquiring skills and knowledge in different areas of learning while developing their autonomy. The main objective for preschool children is to master language. This is especially true when we consider our students. At P'tits Bouts, we opted to offer a fully immersive program in French to facilitate mastery of the French language early on.

Becoming a student
Socialization is a big part of the preschool experience: students will learn skills around communal life (rules of conduct, hygiene and how to show respect for others). They will discover how school life is organized, and what role the student plays in school. Finally, becoming a student also means learning to become independent, to show initiative and responsibility. Discovering the world
In Preschool, students learn to understand and recognize space and time concepts. They develop observation skills and learn to question and reason. Through this, they will be introduced to their first mathematical topics (number, compare and contrast groupings). |
Mastering language
This is the main focus of preschool teachings. The aim is to enable children to express themselves and interact in an intelligible way, to enrich their vocabulary and learn to structure their sentences. Understanding, imagining, feeling, creating
Preschool offers a first artistic introduction to drawing and visual art projects on one hand, and to spoken directions and listening skills on the other. Children are asked early on to listen, observe, and partake in various art forms (music, painting, dance, theater...). They are continuously encouraged to share their opinions and emotions. |
Reading and writing
To lay the groundwork for reading and writing teachings, students will work on words sounds, the alphabet, and graphics. Expression through movement and gross motor skills
Through obstacle courses, theatrical activities, group games and the exploration of movements (running, jumping, throwing ), students learn to discover their bodies and develop motor, sensory and emotional capacities. |
