Conference: The power of Plurilingual Education

Being bilingual has some obvious advantages. But what are the actual short and long-term effects of a plurilingual and intercultural education on your children’s development, their skill acquisition, their life?

If you wonder whether you should give your children a bilingual education starting preschool or  beyond preschool; if you want to know what are the pros and cons of an immersion school vs. public school, or if you simply want to learn more about bilingualism and plurilingual education, join us on December 8, 2020  for an interactive session on this topic.

Sophie Beaumont, “Inspectrice de l’Education Nationale” for the AEFE FISNA will present the latest research on plurilingual education, share real-life experiences, and answer any questions you may have.

The conference will be held in both French and English.

The EFGB team will also be there to discuss and answer questions regarding the programs they offer, the new bilingual elementary school, and how they can provide a quality and affordable plurilingual education to your children.

Sophie Beaumont is “Inspectrice de l’Education Nationale” for the AEFE – FISNA,  the Agency for French Education Abroad, or Agency for French Teaching Abroad, a national public agency under the administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France that assures the quality of schools teaching the French national curriculum outside France. For the past two years, Sophie Beaumont accompanies and guides a network of 53 French schools located in North America. She is also part of the “laboratoire du plurilinguisme” – plurilingual laboratory – a group of experts who analyses teaching and learning methods in bi-/plurilingual environments and creates resources based on their findings.

Prior to that, Sophie Beaumont was “Inspectrice de l’Education Nationale” in France for the French department of Education. She was also a certified teacher of English in Rouen, France for eight years.
