We are very proud of our team!

Our Camp Counselors are all enthusiastic and responsible youth development professionals selected for their warm and caring personalities. They are specially trained to ensure that each child feels included and spends a wonderful time.

Since one of our main objectives is to help children learn and/or improve their French language skills and fuel their desire to learn the French language and cultures through fun activities, all our counselors are native French-speakers. They will speak French with your children and colleagues and will use extra visual props for those who need them. They will encourage the children to play and express themselves in French to help them progress, enhance their knowledge of Francophone cultures while having fun and spending time outdoors.

Our Camp Counselors qualifications and responsibilities:

  • Education and Experience must be in accordance with Massachusetts and licensing regulations 

  • Experience in an early childcare setting and ability to nurture, encourage and respectfully partner with children, parents and staff

  • Promote camp philosophy and culture both in and out of the classroom

  • Be responsible for health, welfare and safety of the children 

  • Provide a supportive and caring environment that is kept appealing, orderly and clean

  • Participate in camp set up and supervise camper

  • Read each camper’s file to become knowledgeable with their medical and developmental histories

  • Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality of privileged information

  • Communicate openly and honestly

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR

Our Counselors are trained in:

  • CPR and First Aid
  • Children Mental Health First Aid
  • Mandated Reporter and child abuse prevention
  • Socio-emotional learning
  • Inclusion and learning differences
  • Training on discipline policies
  • Anti-bullying prevention
  • Confidentiality
  • Emergency response: Missing child, fire evacuation, child Contingency plans

Our Camp Directors qualifications and responsibilities:

In accordance with Massachusetts licensing regulations, each site has a camp director who has successfully completed a course in camping administration and/or has at least two seasons as part of the administrative staff of a recreational camp for children.

  • Responsible for the daily administration and operation of the Summer camp

  • Administer and supervise the camp program in accordance with administrative procedures established.

  • Oversees camp set up

  • Read each camper’s file to become knowledgeable with their medical and developmental histories

  • Be responsible for health, welfare and safety of the children

  • Provide a supportive and caring environment that is kept appealing, orderly and clean

  • Provide predictable routines and transitions during the course of each day, with a balance of child-selected and counselor-initiated activities and indoor and outdoor play

  • Maintain knowledge and adherence to all camp policies, plans and procedures

  • Maintain the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality of privileged information

  • Communicate openly and honestly

All of our staff undergoes a full background check

Background check: As counselors, we are entrusted with the safety and well-being of the campers who attend our camp. We exercise due diligence whenever we hire staff by following a careful hiring practice. Each applicant submits a resume with a listing of all previous employers and references, with at 5 years of prior work history.

All candidates must provide three positive references from prior employers. Feedback from these references will be documented.

We require that a CORI and a SORI/DCF background check be done on current and prospective employees, volunteers and others who may have a direct and unmonitored contact with children.

For candidates from outside the USA, we will obtain appropriate criminal records from their home country or the country of their past residence.
